You've been doing some research on electronic dartboards and have come to realize that Arachnid is one of the best known names in the industry. They started making dartboards way back in 1975, so you know they know what they're doing by now.
The big question is, which electronic dartboard to get? Regardless if you want to know the Arachnid Cricket Pro 900 vs 800, 750 vs 900, or even 800 vs 750, you're in the right place.
As we go through this, you'll see that everything is a tradeoff between features and price. Simply put, the more you pay, the more you get.
The real question is, what do you want or need in your new dartboard?
Regardless of which you choose, you're a winner because all 3 of these electronic dartboards are pretty awesome.
We'll dive into all the specifications in this section. Let's first compare it to the other models of the Arachnid Cricket Pro.
The Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 has approximate dimensions of 30x22x3 inches where as the Arachnid Cricket Pro 900 has dimensions of 21x2x29. Both of these are fine for electronic dart boards, but the Cricket Pro 900 is definitely less bulky.
The Pro 900 is a bit heavier as well coming in at 11.7 lbs where as the Cricket pro 800 is only 10 lbs. We can only imagine this is due to more features and higher quality construction.
You'll notice in the Arachnid Cricket Pro 900 vs 800 matchup is the games and variations.
The Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 has a solid showing with 40 games and 179 variations for all skill levels. But the Cricket pro 900 has 48 games and a whopping 354 variations.
The Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 has approximate dimensions of 30x22x3 inches where as the Arachnid Cricket Pro 750 has dimensions of 29x21x2 which is basically the same as the pro 900.
Additionally, the Cricket Pro 800 comes in at 10 lbs whereas the Cricket Pro 750 is only 8lbs. So, the Pro 800 is quite a bit bulkier and heavier than the 750.
You'll notice in the Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 vs 750 matchup is also the games and variations
As we mentioned, the Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 has 40 games and 179 variations for all skill levels. But the Cricket pro 750 has only 36 games and a 175 variations.
Though there is quite a big difference in the number of games, the difference between the 800 and 750 isn't quite as drastic as comparing the Arachnid Cricket Pro 900 vs 750.
The Arachnid Cricket Pro 750 is also missing two features that the Pro 800 has - the heckler feature and dart averaging.
The heckler feature, well, you might be better off with out it. It just taunts you or other players as you make bad shots.
The dart averaging ability is quite handy at improving your game though, so you could be missing out.
These electronic dartboards both have a regulation size 15.5" target area, so you can use it with friends or for a tournament.
Soft tip / electronic dartboards are notorious for bounceouts. They just can't work as well as a traditional board. So, having a good board that reduces bounce outs is key.
The Arachnid Pros have what they call square hole technology. Basically, the square hole is a little smaller than the round dart, so the dart expands the square as it enters, essentially trapping the dart.
It also has micro segments which increases the overall area and reduces total bounce outs.
The Arachnid Cricket Pro 750 is missing a lot of useful features and also has the fewest games. That being said, it has all the fundamentals you need to play and is a bit cheaper.
The Pro 900 is only marginally better than the 800 with the extra games and reduced size. But it's also more.
We think the Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 is the best middle ground between features and price.
